Skyrim boasts one of the most dedicated modding communities out there, and I’m sure I’m not telling you anything you don’t know when I say that.
That’s why, despite being 14 years old, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim remains prevalent and beloved.
Players are constantly able to inject the game with new content, if you’re on PC that is.

Yes, I hear you, Creation Club allows console users to mod too, but I often find that the real chunky DLC sized mods I yearn to dive into are PC only.
It’s with that in mind that I aim what I say next at the PC gamers amongst you.
As reported by DSOGaming’s John Papadopoulos, you can currently transform Skyrim into a Morrowind-inspired experience using three mods, all of which are available to download for free now.
When will The Elder Scrolls VI resurface?
This isn’t to be confused with the Skywind modding project which is a total conversion of Skyrim, transforming it into Morrowind.

That remains in development, although it is slated to launch this year.
In the meantime, you’ll likely want to check out ‘Journey to Baan Malur’, a DLC sized mod from NexusMods user pancake0723.
This one allows you to explore the region of Julan-Shar in north-west Morrowind, “home to the town of Cormaris, provincial capital of Baan Malur”.
There are tons of dungeons and new locations to discover, plus all NPCs are fully voiced.

You may then want to make use of the ‘Journey to Baan Malur’ add-on ‘Silgrad’ by NexusMods user Caenraes.
This one adds a couple of new towns, further expanding the above experience.
For your next DLC sized experience, turn to ‘Nyhis and the Border of Cyrodiil’ by NexusMods user Joopvandie.
Again, this one grants you new areas to explore, namely, expanding the game to Cyrodiil, Morrowind, and Solstheim.

The mod includes four new towns, two more dungeons, six quests, in addition to voiced NPCs.
Finally, there’s ‘Fat Skyrim’ by NexusMods user vykaz.
This one similarly features locations from other realms including Hammerfell, Morrowind, Orsinium, and High Rock.
There’s a new questline, new landscapes, interiors, settlements … you name it.

All of the above mods are available now and fair to say, will keep you busy in Skyrim for quite some time.
