Following a day full of big Star Wars reveals and news, the community has decided which of the announcements is the worst… and it’s well deserved.
Star Wars: Starfighter, Shawn Levy's upcoming entry in the franchise, got some big news today.
During the 2025 Star Wars Celebration, Disney revealed that Ryan Gosling will star in the new entry, and that it's dropping in 2027.

They also stated that the new film is set after the events of the new sequel trilogy, following on from where Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker left off.

If you’re watching that and thinking “was that it?”, then, good news, the r/StarWars subreddit is very much on your side.

“This is the worst teaser trailer since The Mandalorian and Grogu teaser trailer I watched 47 seconds ago,” commented user manticor225.
“I expected nothing and it was disappointing,” replied user CantaloupeCamper.
“Who decided this was going to make people… anything? I question the thinking of anyone who oked that to go out.”
I have no idea why the hell big companies keep forcing out rubbish little font reveals like this.

All it does is annoy fans. What exactly did we get from that little title drop that couldn’t have been summed up in a picture instead? Stop getting people hyped for a “trailer” only to trick them into looking at a title card reveal.
This is what happens when shareholders turn around at the last minute to some poor folks in the trailer department and go “hey, we need to pump the stocks, can you push out a teaser for these three words by end of day Friday?”
If you waste Ryan Gosling by having him star in a terrible Star Wars movie I’ll never forgive you, Disney.
