Just when you thought there was not much more that Skyrim could give, its ever-vibrant community comes along and gives us nearly 20 hours of new content.
Originally released in 2011 on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, before being ported to every console generation since, Bethesda’s popular fantasy RPG is without question the most popular entry in The Elder Scrolls series.

According to the aggregate website HowLongToBeat, Skyrim can take anything between 34 to 237 hours to complete, not to mention its two expansions and the vast replayability of its base campaign.

However, perhaps the biggest reason why Skyrim remains so enjoyable to this day is the glorious content that its talented modding community continues to bring. Hopefully, all this additional content will keep us busy until The Elder Scrolls VI finally arrives.
One such mod, as brought to our attention by DSOgaming is the newly released ‘Become High King of Skyrim’ created by WinterishClover and aysigago is available to download for free right now via Nexusmods.
“Unite Skyrim under one banner and claim the throne as High King! This mod introduces a dynamic path to rulership, requiring wealth, alliances, and decisive action to unite the land,” reads the description of the mod.
“Recruit trusted advisors, rebuild the Rangers, and defend Skyrim from the looming Thalmor threat. Rule from Highreach Keep and shape the future of the North!”
After reading its description, it seems like ‘Become High King of Skyrim’ could be one of the most replayable mods yet judging by its dynamic nature which should make each playthrough a little different from the last.

What’s more, not only does it offer new quests, armies and kingdoms to rule as well as up to 20 hours of new content but also four new fully-voiced companions.
It’s worth keeping in mind that ‘Become High King of Skyrim’ is not the finished product with new updates promised that add new content and make quality-of-life improvements.
‘Become High King of Skyrim’ is only available on PC but depending on how development goes, there are plans to bring it to Xbox via Bethesda’s Creation Club. We’ll keep you posted when we learn more.
