The Last of Us Part II Remastered update is now available to download for free to fix a major bug but not everyone has been saved.
Earlier this month, The Last of Us Part II Remastered arrived on PC and what should have been a fantastic time for many, turned into a bit of a clicker nightmare.
Alongside the PC launch was update 2.0 which brought two new playable characters to the ‘No Return’ survival mode, namely Bill and Marlene. Sadly, this update was plagued with a major bug.

One issue reported by many gamers is that the gun holster was removed for Ellie and Abby from The Last of Us Part II Remastered single-player campaign. In a nutshell, if you can't access your guns, you’re easy pickings for the relentless infected.
What’s more, some players were also reporting that the upgrades acquired in the campaign as well as some unlocked skins were removed, undoing hours of hard work.

This week, update 2.0.1 has been deployed that aims to return lost unlockables including the gun holster and skins. At the time of writing, Naughty Dog is still working on a fix to bring back lost skins to ‘No Return’.
Sadly, as spotted by PlayStationLifestyle, in order to access your lost content, you need to load a save file that existed before 3 April 2025.

This means that if you do not have multiple saves or have overridden a save before 3 April, there’s a good chance that you won't be able to access your lost content.
It’s always a good habit to make at least two saves to help avoid situations like this. Something that I also need to make a habit.
If you’ve been impacted by this annoying bug I’ll have my fingers crossed that Naughty Dog will find a fix sooner rather than later.
The Last of Us Part II Remastered is out now on PC and PlayStation 5.
