Sunday’s Xbox & Bethesda not-E3 showcase gave us a lot of things to be excited about, from Starfield to Hollow Knight: Silksong, and even Persona on Xbox. Sandwiched in the midst of cool announcements and gameplay footage for upcoming releases though was a reminder that ARK 2 is indeed happening, and Vin Diesel is in it, whether you like it or not. And he’s riding a dinosaur, because of course he is.
The 2017 title ARK: Survival Evolved was pretty dang great, so when the sequel was announced back in 2020, it really came as no surprise. However, the fact that the Fast & Furious star would be joining Studio Wildcard as executive producer was something I’m not sure anyone saw coming. Needless to say, he’s very hyped about the game, and he wants you to be, too.

Following Sunday’s showcase, Diesel took to Instagram to share his very-not-biased opinion on the upcoming title and its predecessor, as well as some other exciting news: “The best game out right now is Ark Survival Evolved… my son introduced me to the game many years back. Then [Studio] Wildcard and all of the [geniuses] over there asked me to shepherd the IP into the TV and film space… an [honour] I can't begin to describe,” Diesel wrote. “Any real gamer is excited for Ark 2!!! But I am excited for you all to see the franchise unfold on the big screen. Stay tuned.”
That’s right, you’re not a real gamer if you’re not excited for ARK 2. Sorry, them’s the breaks - Vin Diesel says so. Also, yes, he did just confirm out of nowhere that he’s going to be starring in an ARK movie - there’s no word on when that’ll be coming out, but if it means we can see more of the actor riding dinosaurs, sign me up.

ARK 2 on the other hand is set to release sometime in 2023. If you’ve not already tried out its predecessor, you can actually grab it for free on Steam right now until Sunday 19 June (6pm UK time) - be sure to get on it while you can.
