Star Wars is soon set to drop a new animated series.
If you enjoyed Tales of the Jedi and Tales of the Empire, then you’re likely going to want to tune into Tales of the Underworld when it drops next month.
The series will premiere on Star Wars Day, 4 May, consisting of six brand new episodes for fans to devour.

If you’re unfamiliar with the Tales anthology series, I highly recommend you give the various instalments a watch.
Each season consists of six episodes, split across two three-episode arcs.
Tales of the Jedi mainly focused on Ahsoka Tano and Count Dooku, while Tales of the Empire centred around Morgan Elsbeth and Barriss Offee.
With each episode lasting for between 13 and 17 minutes, each season will take less than two hours of your time.

They’re great little slices of life insights into various eras and regimes in Star Wars’ universe, and Tales of the Underworld is set to reunite us with two prequel era characters.
You can view the trailer for Tales of the Underworld below.
One arc will centre on Asajj Ventress, voiced by Nika Futterman.

Ventress belongs to the Zabrak species and was originally a member of the Nightsisters of Dathomir before she was surrendered into slavery.
Eventually, Ventress was taken in by the Jedi, training as a padawan before she fell to the dark side, going on to become somewhat of an apprentice to Count Dooku before turning against him in later life.
If you’ve watched The Clone Wars or The Bad Batch, you’ve likely seen Ventress before, plus she appeared in The Force Unleashed games.
Tales of the Underworld will explore Ventress’ era as a dark side assassin “as she’s given a new chance at life and must go on the run with an unexpected new ally”.

The other arc will focus on Cad Bane, voiced by Corey Burton, who you may recall as making his live-action debut in The Book of Boba Fett.
The character had appeared in The Clone Wars prior to that.
Cad Bane is a ruthless bounty hunter, with this latest tale seeing him face his past as he “confronts an old friend, now a marshal on the other side of the law”.
There’s even a character in the trailer some suspect to be a young Jod Na Nawood, Jude Law’s character from Skeleton Crew, but it’s merely a theory.

We’ll find out when the series drops on 4 May.
