
Despite his story being explored multiple times, it seems as though Star Wars fans just can’t get enough of Darth Vader as the man himself returns in a brand-new prequel.
First appearing in 1977’s Star Wars: Episode IV—A New Hope, Darth Vader went on to become one of the most iconic villains of all time, being recognisable to people all over the world whether they were a Star Wars fan or not.

Known for his breath-projecting helmet and iconic clash with Luke Skywalker, it is no wonder that Vader went on to become a fan favourite, leading plenty of authors to dive into his story in more detail.

That is the case once again as author Adam Christopher, who is best known for penning the bestselling Star Wars: Shadow of the Sith, is now set to release his brand-new book which explores what Vader was up to after the events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith.
Titled Star Wars: Master of Evil, we now have our first sneak peek at the cover which is ominous to say the least but will set the scene perfectly for a story which chronicle’s Darth Vader’s pursuit to find immortality.
With art from Simon Goinard, Masters of Evil hits shelves on 11 November, 2025.

This release was shared ahead of Star Wars Celebration Japan 2025 and you can learn what else will be up for grabs throughout the year on the official Star Wars blog.
For now, however, fans are feeling torn about this brand-new prequel story and took to r/StarWars to share their thoughts.
“It sounds good, but this will be the third time (Charles Soule's Vader comics; the Vader Immortal game) that Vader's researched and failed bringing Padme back. It's a very obvious, interesting thing to go into, but it has been done”, user RexBanner1886 commented.
However, user Nevic1984 was feeling more optimistic.

“Well that sounds awesome! That could be a pretty intriguing story based on that synopsis,” they wrote.
“I wish we didn't have to wait til November though. Would be great if they announced it only a month ahead or something.”
Hopefully Star Wars: Master of Evil will stand out amongst the rest when it comes to exploring Vader’s difficult quest.
