I’m not sure I’ll ever forgive Lucasfilm for cancelling The Acolyte.
Before its debut, Darth Plagueis is a figure that had only ever been named dropped to us in Star Wars’ canon.
For years, fans begged for the character to finally be explored, which is exactly what The Acolyte set out to do.

The only problem is that season one offered just a mere glimpse of a live-action Plagueis, with the character due to be more present in the subsequent second season.
Yes, the season that was cancelled and will never come to fruition.
Well, I’m still hoping for an announcement of a last minute U-turn renewal at this month’s Star Wars Celebration but I’m likely inhaling copium.
As such, Plagueis will have to remain a mystery.

That said, if you look outside Star Wars’ canon, you can learn more about the character in what many fans are hailing as a masterpiece.
Tales of the Underworld was just announced; it’ll drop on 4 May.
Star Wars: Darth Plagueis is a novel by James Luceno that charts the career of Plagueis, leading up to the Star Wars prequel trilogy.

It covers his mentoring of Palpatine, but is not actually considered to be canon.
Still, it’s definitely worth a read according to those who have picked it up.
“The Darth Plagueis novel is a masterpiece,” wrote Reddit user Striking_Site4457.
“I listened to the audiobook and it was phenomenal. Episode II always had a special place in my heart from a story perspective, but Plagueis really turns that movie into a masterpiece as well,” added joeba_the_hutt.

“One of my favorite books,” remarked Dear-Smile.
“One of my favorite books of all time. It really shows the perspective of the sith and their philosophy. They aren't just the ‘bad guys’. They want to shape the world in their philosophy of strength above all else,” commented emmittgator.
Well, I’ve convinced myself to pick up a copy at the very least.
I’ll also add that we’ll be on the ground at Star Wars Celebration, bringing you the latest headlines and reveals so do be on the lookout for our coverage.
