Last week saw thousands of Star Wars fans travel to Tokyo to experience the Star Wars Celebration which saw some of the franchise’s biggest stars take to the stage to talk about projects both old and new.
The event, which ran from 18-20 April, saw Lucasfilm put on the ultimate Star Wars event which featured panels, exhibits, activities, merchandise and more and as you can probably expect, there were a whole lot of announcements.

Alongside the news of all the upcoming television shows and movies that we will get to experience over the next couple of years, the event also shone the spotlight on some old and familiar faces such as Hayden Christensen himself.

Best known for his role as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader in the prequel trilogy, Christensen has gone on to star in multiple other Star Wars projects such as 2022’s Obi-Wan Kenobi and 2023’s Ahsoka.
Christensen appeared at the Star Wars Celebration and whilst there, he took the time to speak with ComicBook about his future in the franchise.
Ahead of the 20th anniversary release of Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith and following his announcement of season two of Ahsoka, the actor had the following to say:
“There’s not much that I can share, but Anakin will be back for season 2,” Christensen confirmed.

However, fans were definitely more interested in another comment he made regarding any plans to don the Darth Vader suit once more.
“There’s a lot that we could still explore with Vader,” Christensen told ComicBook.
“I think from where we left off, after Episode III, and everything that he has to reconcile after he’s trapped in this new version of himself, there’s just a lot of very rich stories that we could still tell.”
Of course, this does not confirm anything but it does show that Christensen would definitely be onboard with returning.

However, fans are feeling pretty torn about his comments.
“Bro doesn't see the hundreds of comics and novels about Vader,” one Twitter user wrote.
Another agreed, adding, “The Darth Vader series is Episode 1 through 6.”
Nevertheless, other users are feeling quite excited about the possibility.

“God PLEASE Disney,” one fan begged.
“Bring Hayden back as Vader for a show series set after III in the period where he's the Emperor's Fist, hunting Jedi etc.”
With multiple Star Wars projects on the docket, it may be a while before we see Vader’s return (if it happens at all) but it seems as though it will have to do something different if it wishes to appease all fans.
