Star Wars fans have learned how Darth Maul survived The Phantom Menace following his battle with Qui-Gon Jinn.
Released in 1999, it’s fair to say that Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace isn't viewed as one of the best entries in the sci-fi series. However, I think over the years, some Star Wars fans may have slowly warmed to the movie.
That being said, Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace looks like The Godfather Part II next to Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker.

Just a heads up, I am about to venture into spoilers for Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace, a movie at the time of writing, is over a quarter of a century old.

Obi-Wan Kenobi defeats Darth Maul, sending his split-in-two body tumbling down the pit on the planet Naboo. For obvious reasons, Darth Maul was presumed dead, but Star Wars fans have learned that he somehow survived his battle and fall.
“How did Darth Maul survive being sliced in half by Obi-Wan Kenobi during their duel on Naboo?” is the question asked on Quora.
“Maul survived by focusing on his anger and pain, using them to fuel his will to survive. During the fall, he used the Force to grab onto a vent in the pit he fell into,” explained Jamie.
“He found himself in a trash collector and was then discarded onto a junk planet called Lotho Minor. Once there, he lived in the bowels of the planet for a while and found himself a six-legged robotic platform and attached it to himself.”
