This year, Peter Safran and James Gunn’s rebooted DCU will finally get underway.
‘Chapter One: Gods and Monsters’ will commence this summer when Superman drops on 11 July 2025.
That’ll be followed by Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow on 26 June 2026, Clayface on 11 September 2026, and The Authority, The Brave and the Bold, and Swamp Thing on unspecified dates after that.

Well, technically, chapter one is already underway as animated TV series Creature Commandos is considered to be included and that began airing in December of 2024.
Fair to say though, the debut of David Corenswet’s Clark Kent is widely perceived to be the true start of the DCU.
There are several other TV series included in chapter one that are on the way over the next couple of years, such as Peacemaker season two, Lanterns, Waller, Paradise Lost and Booster Gold.
It's the film The Brave and The Bold that I want to focus on today though, because it’s this project that’ll introduce a new Batman.

The film is expected to centre around Batman and his son, Damian Wayne, as a version of Robin.
Andy Mushcietti of It and The Flash fame is on board to direct the film, but there’s very little else we know about it which isn’t all that surprising as it likely won’t land until 2027 at the very earliest.
Already though, one actor has teased that he may be in talks to be the DCU’s new caped crusader.

In an interview with ScreenRant, actor Brandon Sklenar implied that DC Studios may be aware of his status as a fan-favourite pick for the character.

When asked if anyone from DC had made a call about it, Sklenar replied with this: “Yeah. I think there's some awareness of me on some level, probably. But yeah, I know they're a ways away from doing that. But yeah, obviously, the little kid in me, and the adult me is, like, ‘This is cool!’ And I have a bunch of ideas. Anyway, it'd be cool.”
Sklenar is perhaps best known for his roles in 1923, Drop, and It Ends With Us. He’ll also star in upcoming thriller The Housemaid.
Of course, while he seemingly is one name that’s being thrown around, Sklenar certainly hasn’t been cast so I’d imagine that DC is weighing up plenty of options.
It’s an interesting development nonetheless though.
