Twitch is full of some great content. As well as gaming, there’s a stream for just about anything, be it cooking, chatting, or even reading, apparently.
As with any platform though, there’s always some not-so-good stuff. As reported by PC Gamer, popular streamer Dimitri “Greekgodx” Antonatos was temporarily banned from Twitch last night following a baffling sexist rant, in which he declared that any prospective partners would need to give up their careers to cook and clean for him.
Before we get into it, be sure to take a look at some of our favourite livestream wins and fails below.
A clip of the rant was shared by Dexerto on Twitter: “This goes to any women, women who wanna date me, especially female streamers that wanna date me. Okay? If you wanna date me, you better believe I will be the, even if you’re streaming, you’re gonna have to stop streaming,” the streamer said. “Streaming is ended for you, your career is done. Okay? I will stream while you cook for me and you clean for me, and you look after the children while I gain all the money, and I give it to you and I give it to our children for a healthy, secure life.

“Okay? That’s how I want to run my life. Okay? That’s my life that [sic] I want to do it,” he continued. “Now it’s up to you and other people in their other worlds whatever they want to do, but my reality, I’m gonna sit here, earn all the money, you’re gonna be in the kitchen, cooking, cleaning, and making sure my home is f**king clean, and I’m gonna make sure we have money so we can have a home, and you have a place to sleep at night. Okay? Because it’s called working together. Okay? Alright? Okay, because streaming, believe it or not, is mentally damaging to my mind.”
What a tantalising offer, eh? There’s no doubt that there’ll be plenty of self-sufficient female streamers simply jumping at the prospect. However, not long after the stream ended, Antonatos’ Twitch channel was banned, although he claims it’s not thanks to his sexist rant, but instead twerking on stream.
In reply to a Twitter user who posted a GIF of the supposed incriminating twerk, he wrote: “Yeah this is what I got banned for. No problem I [don’t] need to use my body for content I have my personality! [I’ll] be back in 72hrs.”
Just to dig the hole a bit deeper, this morning, Antonatos tweeted: “If you haven’t already [guessed,] most streamers[’] girlfriends are with them for the social status and their money.” Regardless of whether or not his rant was the cause of the ban, it’s definitely not a good look.
