Twitch streamer Alinity banned and made to go to 'copyright school'

Twitch streamer Alinity has been hit with another ban on the streaming platform, and is being forced to attend “copyright school.”

Twitch bans are a pretty common occurrence on the site nowadays, hitting several big names like Amouranth, who once received two bans in the space of three days.

Now the streamer Alinity has been hit with one, after streaming reality TV to her thousands of followers.

Alinity has had several instances of trouble on the platform throughout her career, though I’m sure the majority will only know of the time she threw her cat behind her head on stream.

Now the streamer has once again found herself in hot water, and no we’re not talking about any hot tub streams, as those have thankfully died out due to Twitch’s new policy on what is and isn't appropriate content for the site.

Alinity announced on Twitter that her channel had been banned due to a DMCA strike, and shared a screenshot of the message sent to her by Twitch.

Bizarrely the message said she’s “eligible to remove 1 copyright strike” by completing a learning module called “Copyright School” and completing a quiz.

The program is apparently designed to educate Twitch streamers on the “copyright basics,” going on to say, “Like driving school, Copyright School is meant to help well-meaning streamers learn the rules.”

Overall, the learning module acts as a way back to streaming on the off chance the copyright strike was earned through a simple mistake, or lack of awareness of the site’s rules.

Alinity’s fans mocked the ban, with many suggesting she move her streams over to the rival site Kick, where several popular streamers like Amouranth have moved to in recent months.

So if you’re an up and coming Twitch streamer, let this be a lesson to you, spend some time in copyright school or risk losing access to your channel.
