We may only be a few months into 2025 but the year is already shaping up to be one of the best when it comes to hit video game releases.
We have already seen titles such as Monster Hunter Wilds, Split Fiction, and Assassin’s Creed: Shadows hit record-breaking numbers, making it hard to believe that we are only in April.
Check out the trailer for another potential Game of the Year, Split Fiction, below!
With the rest of the year expected to be equally as jam-packed with epic releases, this upcoming RPG is believed by many to be a dark horse when it comes to the running for Game of the Year.

It is Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, “a ground-breaking, turn-based RPG” that is developed by Sandfall Interactive and expected to be released on 24 April.
Set in a world inspired by Belle Époque France, players will need to lead the members of Expedition 33 on their quest to destroy the Paintress who has made it her life’s work to paint death itself.
“Once a year, the Paintress wakes and paints upon her monolith,” the official synopsis reads.
“Paints her cursed number. And everyone of that age turns to smoke and fades away. Year by year, that number ticks down and more of us are erased. Tomorrow she’ll wake and paint “33.”

And tomorrow we depart on our final mission - Destroy the Paintress, so she can never paint death again.
We are Expedition 33.”
Players will be able to create unique builds for their characters that fit their playstyle and once in real-time combat, can master attack rhythms, target enemy weak spots, and dodge and parry in order to gain the upper hand in battle.
However, what many may not realise is that Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 will be heading to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on day-one so subscribers will be able to dive in at no extra cost.
