Samuel L Jackson’s Mace Windu is certainly a fan favourite of the prequel era and fair to say, many of us are itching for a reprisal of the role.
What that might look like is difficult to judge.
Mace Windu is, I’m sorry to remind everyone, dead, so the character’s return would have to be in the form of a prequel.

Samuel L Jackson isn’t getting any younger though, so that cancels out live-action unless deaging technology is used.
Personally, I’d be all for a Mace Windu-centric animated prequel series, charting the Jedi Master’s former escapades.
While it’s unknown whether the actor will reprise the role, he did make a return of sorts to the Star Wars franchise in recent days, showing up at a cinema screening of Revenge of the Sith alongside Anakin actor Hayden Christensen.
ICYMI: Andor’s second season is now underway on Disney Plus.
Christensen and Jackson reunited this past weekend to celebrate Revenge of the Sith’s return to cinemas for its 20th anniversary.

The duo surprised lucky moviegoers at the famous El Capitan Theater in Hollywood, emerging on stage to talk about the movie.
They even brought lightsabers with them and, as reported by Comic Book, Christensen showed off Anakin’s signature spin move while Jackson wielded his iconic purple blade.
“I see a lot of lightsabers out here,” Christensen said, standing on stage solo.
“I see a lot of red lightsabers, which, truth be told, is my personal favourite lightsaber colour.”

“Hold on, Skywalker,” Jackson interrupted. “This party ain’t even over,” he added, stepping on stage.
You can imagine the noise in the room at this point.
“This is so, so, so awesome,” Jackson told the crowd.
“Twenty years later, I can hardly believe that we’re still as popular — as happenin’ — as we are. I haven’t seen Hayden in a while, but so, so, so happy to come back, see him, and see all of you at the same time. Thank you all so much. We had a great time making the film down in Australia. We were hangin’ out, doin’ stuff.”

“I hope you enjoy the effort that went into this and watching me do my ‘I move almost all backwards’ fight with Palpatine,” he added. “Before my unexpected exit. And for the record — Mace lives!”
Mace lives!? Well, scratch what I said. Bring on the live-action sequel.
