PlayStation gamers are jealous of the free games on offer with the Xbox subscription service, and we can see why.
For the most part, Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus offer great value for money, regardless of the tier. For a reasonable fee, we can get instant access to a plethora of games from AAA big hitters to delightful indie darlings.
Sometimes, subscribers are treated to a launch game with Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus. However, as good as PlayStation Plus can be, at least when it comes to major launch titles, some gamers feel it’s falling short of its competitor.

If you subscribe to the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass tiers, you get to enjoy major first-party exclusives with the likes of Starfield, South of Midnight, as well as the upcoming DOOM: The Dark Ages.
Sadly, this is where PlayStation Plus is arguably missing the mark. It’s not like Sony is short of major first-party titles, but it seems like it has no intention of launching God of War, Horizon or The Last of Us on its subscription service.

It’s Sony’s right not to launch its major AAA titles on its service, and perhaps in that respect, Xbox Game Pass subscribers have been spoiled. But with that in mind, PlayStation Plus subscribers are a little jealous.
One of the releases that has sparked a touch of the green-eyed monster from PlayStation Plus subscribers is a game that’s not even a first-party Xbox title. That game is the critically acclaimed, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, developed by Sandfall Interactive.
“Is anyone else extremely jealous of the difference in quality between Game Pass and PS Plus recently?” asked Marnus-Norunnnnn. “Game Pass just had Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered as day one releases.”

“It feels like PS Plus users are getting screwed over with what we're receiving in return for our subscription. Recently, we got Blue Prince, which is great but you know who else also got Blue Prince on release? Game Pass.”

“Indiana Jones and The Great Circle was a day one Game Pass release too,” replied LooseSeal88 with HaikusfromBuddha adding “Ninja Gaiden Black 2 came out around that time and Ninja Gaiden 4 is coming to Game Pass later this year.”
“S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 in November. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 in October. Avowed in February. South of Midnight was also out this month. It's a different league,” explained fabregas7cpa.
“On top of that, the PS Plus price was increased recently. I’m contemplating whether I should renew it this year or not,” exclaimed Magur76.
“Game Pass has always been better. PS Plus Extra is great, but only if you never buy games or are new to gaming. Game Pass had some dry times, but at its worst, it’s still the equivalent of PS Plus,” said DarahOG.

It will be interesting to see if Sony ups the value of PlayStation Plus in the coming months, with Microsoft knocking it out of the park recently with Xbox Game Pass. Only time will tell.
