One player has discovered a pretty simple way to max out one of your most important skills in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered in “literal minutes”, and it seems like an incredibly simple way to become overpowered almost as soon as the game begins.
Over on the r/oblivion subreddit, one user has figured out a pretty funny way to max out any of your magic stats with barely any effort.
By the sounds of things, this is something that’s actually unique to the remastered version of Oblivion, too. I mean, would it really be a Bethesda game if there weren’t new bugs and exploits to take advantage of?

“New magic leveling is insanely broken… The higher the base mana cost for a spell, the more exp you gain,” writes user Omgzjustin10.
“I made a 20 healing for 8 seconds spell and it is currently giving me a level up every TWO casts at 80 restoration. It now takes literal minutes to get 100 destruction and restoration. In original Oblivion it would take 17,000 casts to get 100 restoration.”
It seems magic stats aren’t the only ones that got an upgrade in the remaster either, as others in the comments note that one other specific skill is now ten times easier to master.
“Mercantile got a similar update. Bigger sales = more exp,” commented user Blood_Edge.

“I power leveled it using an exploit repeatedly selling a few thousand gold of welkynd stones I didn't have to a merchant and leveled it up every 2 sales tops.”
That being said, I can’t be the only one who’s finding levelling to be incredibly easy, regardless.
It’s nice that these changes exist for those who want to powerlevel immediately and blitz through the game, but I’m maxing out stats super easily without really trying.
Although it might be worth doing anyway if you want to play on Expert or Master. The difficulty settings really need a patch.
