Last week saw Star Wars fans pleasantly surprised when Disney+ dropped a trailer for its upcoming instalment in its Tales anthology series.
This will mark the next instalment in the Tales anthology series since 2022’s Tales of the Jedi and 2024’s Tales of the Empire with each series consisting of six episodes, split across two three-episode arcs.

These anthology series give Star Wars fans the chance to explore some of the lesser-known characters in the universe such as Tales of the Jedi focusing on Ahsoka Tano and Count Dooku, whilst Tales of the Empire followed Morgan Elsbeth and Barriss Offee.

Now it is the turn of two prequel era characters: Asajj Ventress and Cad Bane in Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld which airs on 4 May, 2025 to celebrate Star Wars Day.
For hardcore Star Wars fans, these are some interesting characters with Ventress originally being a member of the Nightsisters of Dathomir and an apprentice to Count Dooku and Bane who made his live-action debut in The Book of Boba Fett as a ruthless bounty hunter.
Now the two will come together in this upcoming series and it is safe to say that fans are excited for some more Star Wars content.
With 81 thousand upvotes on the Tales of the Underworld trailer, potential fans flocked to the comments to share their thoughts about the surprise reveal.

“I'm happy that I'm not the only one who enjoys these Tales shorts. Now we need Tales of the Sith with Palpatine and Maul, Tales of the Separatists with Grievous and Trench, and Tales of the Republic with Tarkin and Wulff Yularen,” one comment read.
Another said: “Follow-up on Ventress Post-Bad-Batch, Cad Bane’s Origin story, AND a title callback to George’s cancelled Coruscant series. That’s a win in my book.”
There is just a month to go until this brand-new series airs and it seems as though Disney+ will have another hit on its hands.
