The superhero team has also met its end on several occasions, though it’s always temporary as the Marvel Comics multiverse continuously changes and evolves with new continuities, What If? spin-offs or simply reversing whatever went wrong just in the nick of time.

A new comic run, titled Avengers: Twilight, is once again teasing the deaths of The Avengers, and promises to reveal all next month during New York Comic Con.
Teasing the new series in a tweet, the official Marvel Entertainment page said: “Behold the final days of Earth's Mightiest Heroes in 'Avengers: Twilight'! Learn about Chip @zdarsky and Daniel Acuña’s startling new vision of the Avengers next month at #MarvelNYCC.”
The new project will be led by Chip Zdarsky and Daniel Acuña, with Zdarsky having previous experience at Marvel with his own spin on the Daredevil series, as well as work at DC with the Dark Knight himself, Batman.
While we don’t know what’s in store for The Avengers in the new storyline, it’ll likely involve the heroes taking on another all-powerful threat, which could end up being too much for them to handle.

The teaser was accompanied by some artwork depicting the classic Avengers logo split down the middle, implying that whatever happens will result in the team either perishing, disappearing, or splitting up, which has all happened before.
Whether there’s a resolution at the end of the series or if it’ll lead to something entirely new is also unknown.
Avengers: Twilight will release its first issue in January 2024.
