Marvel fans have been treated to a tease of the brand new Avengers team for the MCU as officially revealed by Disney.
As we edge closer to Phase Six of the MCU, it’s really starting to feel that we’re entering a new era of Marvel on the silver screen. Whether it hits the heights of the Infinity Saga remains to be seen but I guess we’ll find out in the next year or two.

After Disney acquired 21st Century Fox in 2019 along with it came the movie rights to the likes of Fantastic Four and X-Men but let’s not forget what brought Disney to the MCU dance, earth’s mightiest heroes, the Avengers.

Sure, the Avengers of today is going to look a bit different to the one that existed before Avengers: Endgame but it’s an exciting time to be an MCU fan nonetheless.
Part of the new era is the Young Avengers who made their first appearance in a 1 April 2005 comic created by Allan Heinberg (writer) and Jim Cheung (artist) with featured characters such as America Chavez, Speed, Wiccan and more.
As reported by The Direct, fans were reportedly treated to the first tease of the MCU’s version of the Young Avengers on the luxury Disney Treasure cruise ship.
During a post-credit scene for the upcoming Disney Plus series, Champions, those in attendance apparently saw three of the potential Young Avengers members namely, America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez), Cassie Lang (Kathyrn Newton) and Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne).

Furthermore, adding fuel to that speculation, a scene in Marvel Celebration of Heroes: Groot Remix at the Worlds of Marvel restaurant featured America Chavez, Cassie Lang and Riri Williams sitting at a restaurant table “celebrating their latest victory.”
Those names join Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani) and Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld) who were already potentially recruited to the Young Avengers by Captain Marvel (Brie Larson). So it looks like this new team is well and truly taking shape.
Now the cats are out of the proverbial bag, hopefully, Disney and Marvel Studios will make official announcements regarding the Young Avengers to the rest of the world in the coming weeks or months. We’ll keep you posted.
As for the Champions series on Disney Plus, that is expected to arrive after Avengers: Secret Wars, currently set to release in cinemas on 7 May 2027.
