Avengers: Doomsday leaked teaser has left us with so many more questions

Does this confirm that Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy will return?

We just got our first proper, official leak from the set of the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film Avengers: Doomsday, and, I’ll be honest with you, I’ve got absolutely no clue what I’m looking at.

Thank you in advance to Comicbook's Josh Wilding for the original source (per: @UnBoxPHD).

We’re still over a year away from Avengers: Doomsday’s release, and yet somehow we already have official spoilers.

Your mileage may vary in terms of how much said spoilers actually spoil, however, because it’s sort of impossible to discern what’s actually going on in the video that leaked from the set.

As UnBoxPHD’s YouTube video (assumedly captured from a drone) reveals, one of the sets from Avengers: Doomsday seems to be showing off the site of a pretty huge battle. Beyond that, your guess is as good as mine in regards to what actually took place.

However, some folks over on the r/marvelstudios subreddit seem to have spotted something a little more concrete.

“This looks like the exact courtyard of the X-Mansion that they’ve shown in X-Men Apocalypse and First Class,” commented user Overall_Affect_2782.

“Wow lot of holes and yeah outside X-Mansion seems possible,” replied user TelephoneCertain5344.

I had a little browse through a few clips from both X-Men: First Class and X-Men: Apocalypse, and yeah, the similarities are definitely there.

It’s not a one-to-one match, but the layout is the same for sure.

The funny thing is, we know the Fox universe X-Men will be showing up in Avengers: Doomsday, but the courtyard in this leak resembles the one from the films in which the prequel actors from that universe belong to, not the actors from the original three X-Men films.

Obviously that’s not a confirmation of anything, but it’s still interesting that they chose to copy the set from the prequel films.

After all, Disney has stated that a lot more characters have yet to be announced…
