A recent development update for The Elder Scrolls VI has fans hoping it’ll be released sooner than expected.
Fans have been waiting for news on The Elder Scrolls VI for a while now, ever since the initial teaser trailer for the game dropped over five years ago.

Now Bethesda has finally broken its silence on the game as it celebrates the 30th anniversary of the Elder Scrolls series, confirming development is running smoothly and playable builds of the RPG do currently exist.

Speaking about the game in a recent tweet, Bethesda said: "Even now, returning to Tamriel and playing early builds has us filled with the same joy, excitement, and promise of adventure."
This is a huge update for the game after so many years of quiet, as it’s believed the project was put on the backburner to focus all efforts on the newest IP Starfield, which still has a few content updates and DLCs planned for the foreseeable future.
Following this development update, fans are hopeful the game’s release could be fast tracked to sometime next year, or at the very least 2025.
Neither Bethesda or Xbox has said anything about a release date, nor a vague release window, so it's really anyone’s guess when the companies are planning to launch the game, as well as what consoles it’ll be for.

If it does somehow release in 2025, it’ll be facing harsh competition from GTA VI, though to be fair a recent update from Rockstar Games suggests the next Grand Theft Auto might be getting pushed back to 2026.
We’re still none the wiser as to when The Elder Scrolls VI will finally materialise on our consoles and PCs, but this positive update from Bethesda definitely fills us with hope it’ll be sooner rather than later.
