The wait for The Elder Scrolls VI just became much more bearable.
In what is probably the biggest stealth announcement we've ever seen (if you ignore the months of leaks), Bethesda and Xbox have officially confirmed the The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered.
The long rumoured remaster has been developed between Bethesda, Bethesda Dallas and Bethesda Rockville, and Virtuos.

As well as featuring overhauled graphics (seriously, this looks more like a remake than a remaster!) we can also expect tweaked gameplay mechanics and a shiny new UI. Frankly, it looks the absolute dog's bollocks.
Better still, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered looks like it'll be available tomorrow on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series consoles, and PC. And if you have Xbox Game Pass, you can play it free. We are, at least, hoping this is the case. A full reveal is scheduled for tomorrow at 4pm BST, and if the rumours are anything to go by - and they've been right so far - a surprise release should come swiftly after.
Originally released in 2006, Oblivion is a firm favourite among fans of fantasy RPGs. While not quite as weird as Morrowind or accessible as Skyrim, the fourth Elder Scrolls game is a sweeping, beautiful adventure. If you've never played it before, you're in for an absolute treat.
My only real complaint is that Bethesda appears to be dropping this bad boy on a Tuesday when I could have been playing it all weekend. Revolting behaviour.
