In a stroke of good news for PlayStation fans, The Elder Scrolls 6 may be coming to Sony's platform, if another recent release is anything to go by.
Earlier this week, Bethesda announced and released The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, giving the 19-year-old game a facelift and engine upgrade.
With Bethesda now belonging under the Xbox Game Studios umbrella, new games from the publisher did not release on PlayStation consoles for a time.
Redfall and Starfield, for example, are exclusive to Xbox Series X/S and PC.

Microsoft later redefined its exclusives strategy, allowing Bethesda to release on PlayStation again. While Starfield hasn't made the jump over yet, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle launched on PS5 after a short window of Xbox exclusivity.
When the Oblivion remaster was shadowdropped on Tuesday, Bethesda made sure the game launched across PC, Xbox, and PlayStation simultaneously.
Fans have taken this as a sign that The Elder Scrolls 6 could come to PS5 (or PS6, depending on how long it takes to develop).
"Oblivion Remake available on PS5 makes me optimistic for TESVI release on the console," reads a post on the TESVI Reddit page.

"There is absolutely no way it isn't on PlayStation. None. Zero probability of it being an exclusive," a user wrote in the replies of the post.
"They'd be literally throwing money away for no reason on one of the most popular franchises going. Skyrim sold 40+ million copies and figure is probably way way higher with anniversary and double purchases etc.. it absolutely will be sold day one on PlayStation."
Indeed, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is estimated to have sold 60 million copies as of last year, making it the seventh bestselling game of all time.
Sales figures for Oblivion Remastered haven't been released yet, however the game did amass an all-time peak of 190,119 concurrent Steam players on Thursday.

It's worth noting that this is just the number of players playing the game on Steam at the same time, and doesn't account for total sales.
It also doesn't include PlayStation and Xbox players, as well as those playing on Game Pass, which is where the game will likely have the biggest numbers.
Altogether, it looks likely that The Elder Scrolls 6 will come to PlayStation. Considering how popular the new Oblivion remaster is, we'd wager Bethesda is probably going full steam ahead with development now.
