The PlayStation 6 is on the way, and while there’s a lot to be concerned about regarding Sony’s next home console the price is possibly the biggest concern.
Many would argue that it’s far too soon to be moving into a new console generation, as there have hardly been any true PlayStation 5 games released since its launch, most have been remakes or remasters.
And yet amongst all those remakes/remasters Bloodborne still hasn’t been brought back from the dead…what’s the deal with that?
When you look at when the PlayStation 4 was released though and how long it took for the PlayStation 5 to take its place, it makes sense that the sixth PlayStation console is on the way.

While it’ll feature several hardware advancements many fans are concerned this will negatively affect price, like this Reddit thread by makomirocket which reads: “How on earth are they going to price a PS6?”
It’s a good question, as the PlayStation 5 Pro can cost well over £700 if you get some of its add-ons, so God knows what the base PlayStation 6 will cost.
Other threads like one from spaceraingame asked the question: “Would the PS6 really cost that much more if there wasn't another Xbox console?”
“Let's say Xbox goes the way of Sega and doesn't release a new console next generation. Even without that price competition for the Playstation 6, that doesn't necessarily mean Sony will charge $1000+ for it … plus for $1000 you can get a decent gaming PC and play both PS and Xbox console exclusives, so that's some price competition right there. I'm guessing the PS6 will cost $600-700 tops but maybe that's just my naivete speaking.”

The price point is a bit of a concern, but until the thing gets announced all we can do is speculate on how much of an increase the hardware will be priced with.
