PlayStation fans can’t catch a break with all these recent leaks regarding the PS6.
After the intense reaction to the newly unveiled PlayStation 5 Pro, gamers have turned their attention back to the next generation of hardware.
Its price has always been a source of concern for would-be buyers – will it cost the earth or have major hidden costs like the PS5 Pro?

Redditor Hot-Cause-481 shared the news on the gaming leaks and rumours subreddit, citing speculation from NeoGAF, another online forum.
Although the main focus of the leak is ‘system on chip’ (SoC), the discussion on Reddit soon turned to the matter of price.
Can you blame them after everyone got stung by the steep starting cost for the PS5 Pro?
Gamers believe the PS6 could be affordable despite this SoC news, provided Sony stopped with the “mid-gen refreshes”.

Unfortunately, as others have been quick to point out, if “gamers are willing to continue to pay the price” then they “can't see Sony lowering the price”.
This would then suggest that the PS6 is going to cost big bucks, likely even more costly than the PS5 Pro.
In the words of Reddit user Saranshobe, “The chances of prices coming down are slim.”
With speculation setting the intended PS6 price at $999, we’re all going to be crying when PlayStation’s next-gen console comes out, and not because of happiness.

It’s an unsettling thought, one that fans are attempting to leave behind while they focus on more thrilling news – like a surprise Ragnarök update.
Fans are celebrating this unexpected news, proving that while the outlook for new hardware may be bleak, PlayStation can be kind as well as greedy.
