You can currently get your hands on a brand new freebie in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet for a limited time, and fans of overpowered ‘Mons are going to want to snap this one up ASAP.
As revealed by the official Serebii.net Twitter account, a very special Pokémon is currently available to snag through the Mystery Gift feature.
“Serebii Update: A new event distribution has begun for Pokémon Scarlet & Violet,” reads the Tweet.

“Get Wei Chyr's Rillaboom which was used to win the 2024 Championships in Taiwan.”
Hey, a free starter Pokémon. That’s great, right? Wrong, according to the commenters.
“Actually horrid gift. Ridiculous even,” commented user @JoZaChei.
“No shiny koraidon/Moraidon 3 years later, but here's a pokemon you can already get, shiny or not. Who cares of the ot. Mystery gifts have definitely gotten worse.”

“A non shiny Pokémon nobody gives a f** it won some championship,” replied user @ljlrj.
“I can easily mimic it by breeding the same two Pokémon. At least there a chance for a shiny.”
Christ. You lot really will complain about anything.
Ok, here’s the breakdown as to why these commenters have no idea what they’re waffling about.

This isn’t just some Rillaboom you could breed at the drop of a hat to fill up your Pokédex, it has perfect IVs. If you don’t know what IVs really do in regards to Pokémon, that just means this Rillaboom is basically as strong as it could feasibly be.
Also, why exactly are you nerds complaining about it not being shiny? Do you know how easy it is to catch shiny ‘Mons in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet? As long as you’re not after a legendary, the game basically trivialised the entire process.
Sheesh. Not every giveaway is gonna be a shiny Rayquaza. Would kind make it less special if they were all just shiny legendaries, don’t ya think?
