If you’re after new intergalactic adventures in Starfield, then this free download might be worth your attention.
Released in 2023 on PC and Xbox Series X/S, the sci-fi RPG from Bethesda, Starfield came with a ton of hype after being in development for quite a few years. However, Starfield received a mixed reception at launch as indicated by its Metacritic scores of 83 from reviewers and 6.8 from users.

In our review of Starfield, GAMINGbible’s Kate said: “Bethesda has created a universe that, despite its vast scale, maintains interest and an impressive attention to detail throughout. The journey you embark on will dazzle you, and I have no doubt that players will be gripped for months, perhaps even years to come.”

The following months after release, Bethesda worked tirelessly to improve Starfield, by not only fixing reported bugs and glitches but also by adding new content such as drivable vehicles on planets, various quality-of-life improvements and more.
What’s more, courtesy of the Creation Club, following in the footsteps of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Starfield not only received mod support on PC but also on Xbox Series X/S. Fallout 4 also received the same treatment, eventually.
Now, as reported by DSOGaming, a new mod for Starfield has arrived called ‘The Pumpkin Protocol’ created by NatCatCute, Deman445 and Mayonaiselady. Best of all, it’s available to download for free right now via Nexusmods.
“The Pumpkin Protocol mod is an immersive quest that pulls you into a suspicious facility, where you are caught up in a high-stakes fight while gaining a friend along the way,” reads the description of the mod. “With a mysterious voice calling for help and strange occurrences you find along the way, you will always be on your toes.”

Furthermore, ‘The Pumpkin Protocol’ adds new armour, weapons and even a new follower named Pumpkin the Terrormorph to the game.
Sadly, from what I can tell, ‘The Pumpkin Protocol’ is a PC exclusive but hopefully it will come to Xbox Series X/S one day via the Creation Club.
Starfield is included in an Xbox Game Pass subscription as well as being available for standalone purchase.
