Horizon 3 isn’t set to land anytime soon, at least according to one insider.
Guerrilla’s last major release, Horizon Forbidden West, landed in 2022.
Yes, that was followed by the Burning Shores DLC in 2023, but that’s the best part of three years that the studio has likely spent working on whatever’s coming next.

LEGO Horizon Adventures did launch last year but development was mainly handled by Studio Gobo in partnership with Guerrilla.
I can’t see Guerrilla moving away from the Horizon franchise as they’re all in, so I’d assume the studio’s next major game is Horizon 3.
Based on when Horizon Forbidden West launched, it doesn’t seem unreasonable to suggest that Horizon 3 could land in 2027.
After all, five years split the first and second games.

According to one leaker though, the game’s release will be delayed by the launch of the long-rumoured Horizon multiplayer game.
LEGO Horizon Adventures is well worth a play.
As reported by Techtroduce, Jason Schreier recently said that the multiplayer release is likely to be Guerrilla’s next game during an episode of Spawncast.

Schreier referred to Horizon 3 as still being “a ways off” although I’d argue that my prediction of 2027 still fits that bill.
Horizon’s multiplayer is one of the few live-service projects that PlayStation hasn’t canned following the disastrous launch of Concord.
You may recall that gameplay supposedly surfaced online a few years back, revealing the game to have somewhat of a Fortnite look and feel.
Of course, there was no way to verify whether the footage was real.

Personally, I’d definitely be interested in a Horizon multiplayer landing, especially if it fulfilled the role of tiding us over until Horizon 3 lands in a few years time.
On the whole though, fans are much more split on the idea.
“I'm going to be so old when Horizon 3 will be released,” wrote Reddit user 3-nichi.
“I'm not a fan of Horizon having multiplayer, especially PvP. It's going to become the next Concord! Please don't,” added cryicesis.

“Rather late than undercooked,” commented KHaskins.
Quite. I’m sure there are some treats coming our way.
