Hogwarts Legacy fans are shocked and amazed the Nintendo Switch version is actually good, after several delays.
Finally, after months of waiting, Hogwarts Legacy is available for all platforms, Xbox, PlayStation, PC and Nintendo Switch.
Take a look at the trailer for the Switch version below
Following its launch on new-gen platforms and PC, the game was ported to Xbox One and PlayStation 4, but the Nintendo Switch version was hit with several delays, as well as scepticism that the game would release in a playable state despite the extended development time.

However as of 14 November, Nintendo Switch players can pick up the game digitally or physically and are seriously impressed with how well it runs on the Switch’s arguably out-of-date hardware.
One player shared their gameplay on Reddit, saying they’d been able to play the game slightly prior to its release because it's “already the 14th in some areas.”
The gameplay was captured in the Switch’s handheld mode and was surprisingly smooth, as the player wandered through the fields and soared through the skies on their broomstick with virtually no slowdown or hiccups in the gameplay.
That being said it’s still a vastly inferior version in terms of graphics, with a lot of the discourse online commenting on the poor waxwork statues that have replaced the game’s many NPCs.

Commenters on the post were pleasantly surprised though, with some even being salty that other open-world games on the Switch don’t play as smoothly, namely Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet.
One user said: “Doesn't look as bad as I thought it would.”
Another added: “I've played a bit today myself and I'm surprised at how well it runs and how good it looks.”
Then a Pokémon fan said: “I’m angry about Scarlet and Violet again.”

All in all, it’s a pretty good Nintendo Switch port, whether it was worth the wait is up to the fans, but at least the definitive Harry Potter gaming experience is available for everyone now.
