Having been hailed as the best selling game of 2023, Hogwarts Legacy delivered as far as its developers and publisher is concerned. Yet, despite being such a hit with fans, some gamers are demanding a remake.
Yes, you read that right: the best selling game of last year is in need of a remake, according to some fans, as they claim it’s “unfinished”. In a long subreddit post, the OP admits that they “loved” the game, however, during their second playthrough they realised it’s “mostly the same game” despite playing as a Hufflepuff.
They explain how they want a remake with all “the RPG stuff uncut”. Basically, they want, “House points, love interests, friendships that can have impact. I want more classes, more Hogwarts related events, more Hogwarts.”

Have you experienced the magic of Hogwarts Legacy?
Although other players agree that the game is “unfinished” with various features not making “the final cut”, some are hopeful that the experience of making the game will help the devs overachieve in the sequel. “They will get a much bigger budget to hire a larger team for HL2 [Hogwarts Legacy 2] so they can make a game that is closer to the original intent for the first game,” one person reasoned, before adding, “It's literally the same story as many of the greatest video game sequels.”
We do see how first games can sometimes be a rough foundation of what’s to come next; they’re not a filler, but they’re not as well-rounded and polished as later instalments in the franchise.

But let’s not do Hogwarts Legacy a disservice here, as we’ve seen with the upcoming DLC for all platforms, the Harry Potter RPG is still delivering stellar content to its fandom. Consequently, this is setting up for the sequel to be bigger and better, but not so much that the first is left unimproved and forgotten.
There are still some of the “strongest quests” to be found in Hogwarts Legacy, so none of us should write it off and demand a remake just yet.
