It’s been a pretty big year for Wolverine, one that comes after a few years of dormancy.
Yes, of course, Wolverine forever lives on in the world of Marvel Comics, but not since the launch of 2017’s Logan has the character been talked about in the pop culture canon quite so much as he has this year.
Predominantly, that’s thanks to the launch of Deadpool & Wolverine, a film which welcomed Ryan Reynolds’ merc-with-a-mouth into the MCU as well as Hugh Jackman’s aforementioned Logan back into the fray.

It was great to see Jackman finally don the iconic yellow and blue suit, but he’s not the only actor to take on the role this year.
Marvel Rivals is set to launch tomorrow, on Friday 6 December, and it’s already captured the attention of thousands of hopeful players.
And ahead of the game going live, Wolverine’s voice actor has been revealed.
Take a look at Marvel Rivals in action below.
It’s hard to break into the live service space. There are plenty of examples of that this year.

Concord, Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, and XDefiant are perhaps the most prominent examples that spring to mind, bidding us farewell before they’d barely got off the ground.
Marvel Rivals could break the curse though.
Of course, we won’t know for certain until we see the size of the player base it accrues, but its Overwatch-esque team-based PvP gameplay has certainly garnered it an impressive level of hype over on social media.
In recent days, NetEase has been unveiling the game’s 33 hero roster - all of whom are playable from launch with additional heroes to be added in due course.

It’s stellar marketing because as each character has been revealed, I’ve only seen the hype and excitement intensify.
I can tell you that practically everyone on the GAMINGbible team is looking forward to teaming up and giving this one a whirl.
One of those playable heroes is Wolverine who will be voiced by actor Steve Blum, a casting which fans have deemed to be perfect.
Blum has more acting credits than I could possibly reel off but to highlight a few, the actor voices Spike Spiegel in Cowboy Bebop, Professor Galvez in Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, Ares in God of War and Ascension, Brimstone in Valorant, Green Lantern in Injustice 2, and Captain Foley and Tank Dempsey in the Call of Duty series.

This isn’t actually Blum’s first outing as Wolverine, voicing the character in various LEGO Marvel Avengers and Marvel Anime projects, as well as Ultimate Spider-Man, Marvel Heroes, and the game Marvel’s Midnight Suns to name a few.
“He is to Wolverine what Kevin Conroy was to Batman,” remarked one Twitter user.
Marvel Rivals launches tomorrow.
