Marvel fans are torn over a new design for Wolverine, and while I don’t think it’s the worst one we’ve had, I can’t say I’m fond of it either.
It’s been a big year for Wolverine fans, as Marvel’s edgiest hero has made several appearances across various media.
The big one was Deadpool & Wolverine, which not only welcomed Logan into the MCU, but welcomed back Hugh Jackman to the role.
Deadpool & Wolverine wasn’t the only appearance, though it was the most prominent, as a new take on the character appeared in Marvel’s new Ultimates comic series which saw him become The Winter Soldier.

Adding to this, NetEase Games revealed an updated roster for its new Marvel Rivals game which is a superhero twist on the Overwatch hero-shooter formula that actually looks rather good.
While the gameplay in the open beta impressed fans, the character designs have been another story.
Marvel Rivals boasts some original designs for its characters and while some like Spider-Man and Iron-Man have been pretty safe and faithful, others haven’t gone down as well.
Wolverine is one of those designs as it sees the character sporting a yellow and blue jacket with no mask, obviously a blend of his X-Men spandex uniform and his more casual fit which sees him frequently wear leather jackets.
Some have described it as the “worst base design in the game” and others have commented on how bulky Logan is, saying it looks like “Wolverine on steroids”.

Others have been into it though, like one who called it “dope” and that of all the “terrible redesigns I’ve seen in the past 10 years of characters, I’ll take this one”.
If you’re one of the fans who doesn’t like this new design though, fear not, as there are alternative skins for the characters, many of which take inspiration from comic or live-action appearances, and tend to look better as well.
