I don’t know about you but one of the most important things in any game is that I look good. I don’t care if that armour has less health, if it doesn’t look good, it’s not going on my virtual body.
Incidentally, that is something that some Hogwarts Legacy players have been struggling with since the game was first released in February of last year. A whole year looking like you had raided a random wizard’s closet? It doesn’t bear thinking about.

The topic recently came up over on r/HarryPotterGame where one poster asked: “Folks doing multiple playthroughs, what’s something you realised embarrassingly late?”

For them, it was that it took them 3 playthroughs to realise they could put up the hood whilst wearing a cloak but for one other contributor, it related to a fashion nightmare.
“That you don’t have to actually wear gear to get the perks,” they admitted. “Spent the first playthrough running around the highlands with an asylum mask, top hat, and cape.”
Although this sounds as though you don’t have to fully equip the item and can run naked around Hogsmeade, it actually means that clothing can be “transfigured” once equipped in order to make it look like other pieces of clothing.
This is quite a common feature in many RPGs as those developers know how much players like to look good but it was something that was apparently easily missed in Hogwarts Legacy.

Hopefully the poor player can drop the asylum mask and hat to look a bit more professional now they know this handy trick.
In related news, a lot of us also seemingly missed a hidden room within the floors of Hogwarts but thanks to the dedicated online community, the mystery has since been solved.
