breaking news
While Sony’s State of Play didn’t show Grand Theft Auto VI, we do have some kind of news about the upcoming game, albeit via Borderlands 4.
What am I going on about? Well, during the State of Play, Gearbox announced that Borderlands 4 will be releasing in September 2025.
It looks like GTA 6 will be here before September
Previously, parent company Take-Two had confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI would launch before the new instalment in the looter shooter franchise.

While this isn’t an official confirmation, it was pointed out on social media, and now we have some idea that GTA VI will be coming soon, most likely in the early Fall.
Of course, this is likely to be confirmed by Rockstar Games somewhere down the line, though the recent earnings call didn't shed any light on the finer details.
It's worth keeping in mind that GTA VI could release just a few weeks before Borderlands 4, or it could even get delayed, though Take-Two has said that Rockstar Games is on track for a Fall launch.
The game is set to blow any and all records out of the water as we get a couple of lovebirds as protagonists and a return visit to Vice City.

As the months of 2025 fall away, we'll get more details on the game, perhaps a second trailer will drop soon, once Rockstar Games clocks that we have an idea of when the game is now set to launch.
Fans will be thrilled to know the game is getting closer, after months and months of searching high and low for any new details.
Will we see a trailer in the coming weeks? It's looking more likely if Take-Two are willing to dish out information on their other games.
