As we get further into 2025, each day brings us closer to GTA VI, which for millions of gamers can only be a good thing.
We still don’t have official word on a release date, though for a while many of us have speculated that GTA VI would launch in October.
GTA 6 will release this year, but there's no word on exactly when
This could possibly slip into November, according to GTA 6 Countdown, on Twitter, who reports that Take-Two is aligning their schedule.

Take-Two is the parent company of Rockstar Games, and is responsible for four titles coming this year.
With GTA VI headlining the selection, Take-Two will also oversee the release of Mafia: The Old Country, 2K26, and Borderlands 4.
The tweet notes that GTA VI could release in “October-November” possibly extending the wait further.
Fans have reacted only as GTA fans can.

“The fact that it's last on that schedule, positions it perfectly for delays,” notes one fan on Twitter.
“That is great news!” exclaims another fan, eager to see the game released.
Any news on the release would be great, but we might be waiting a while longer for Rockstar Games to formally announce the date.
Perhaps because they want to nail down the polishing of the game, or because they want to monitor the gaming landscape before committing.

Either way, hopefully, the next few months will bring news. For now, fans will continue speculating, celebrating, and commiserating.
“I honestly can’t believe that there are still people who believe it’s coming this year,” comments one user.
Another fan replies, “After the release of Mafia they will start marketing GTA 6. Mark my words.”
This would make sense, there’s no use pushing GTA when they have another crime-based action game on the docket.

Let’s all hope this fan isn’t correct with their prediction - “GTA could just as easily slide into 2026 with these dates.”
