Those excited for Grand Theft Auto VI might be able to fill the wait for Rockstar Games’ upcoming game with a completely different title; one that’s being directed by one of the biggest names behind the original Grand Theft Auto titles.
MindsEye is an upcoming third-person shooter from developers Build A Rocket Boy, and old school Grand Theft Auto players might just recognise the name of its director.
Leslie Benzies used to be the president of Rockstar North up until 2016, and during his time with the developer, he produced some of their most well-known titles.

Grand Theft Auto V, May Payne 3, L.A. Noire, Red Dead Redemption– you name it. If it came out before 2016, he probably had a hand in it.
Commenters over on a thread in the r/GTA6 subreddit are seemingly only just finding out that Benzies is the man behind MindsEye, and they seem cautiously optimistic for it.
Take a look at the game in action below.
“MindsEye definitely looks very interesting, especially since the actor of Lincoln Clay is in it,” commented user Jonson1o.

“However, to me, it looks more and more like a spin-off of Cyberpunk the more I look at it.”
“Gotta see some nice 10 min gameplay. The story seems rlly promising tho,” replied user ZEKE307.
“Feel like they’ll be more story focused than gameplay.”
Personally, I’m not too sure what to make of the game myself.

I’m not gonna deny that the cutscenes in the new trailer look incredible, but I am a little bit worried that we’ve not seen more gameplay out of it (considering it’s set to drop in just over two months on 10 June).
Obviously, no game is ever going to be big enough to match the hype behind GTA VI, but if MindsEye does prove to be half decent… well, it could be a nice stop-gap while we wait.
