Those awaiting any news or updates regarding Rockstar Games’ upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI are starting to get worried that bad news is on the horizon, and it’s easy to see why given the radio silence.
Over in a thread on the r/GTA6 subreddit, one user shared their confusion towards the lack of updates.
“January is over (almost),” writes yeahmynathan27, “The game is supposed to release in 10 months, but Rockstar is awfully silent. No screenshots, no trailers, no press talks, no references. Nothing. Absolutely zero marketing.”

“I've been in this sub since early 2020 and let me tell you, it feels exactly like those days. It feels like the game hasn't been even announced yet… Are we still sure that it's releasing this year?”
However, although the poster in question might be concerned, it seems the commenters don’t share their sentiment.
“Were you even around when V was around the corner?? Exactly the same what is happening now happened then,” replied user Geleen04666.
“1 trailer followed by very long radiosilence that was met with speculation by the fans, rinse and repeat. Hell if they want to they could release the game tomorrow without any advertising and it still would be the biggest game of all time.”

“The longer this goes on the more confident I feel about it releasing this year. Unfortunately that means we could have radio silence until April,” commented user OMEGACY.
“If we pass April and nothing has been announced then I will officially be sad and consider it delayed. But 6 months after April is October. That sounds like prime fall release time to me.”
Personally, I agree. It’s a little too soon to be worried. After all, this is Rockstar we’re talking about.
They know they don’t need to go ham on the advertising side of things until the game is actually close to release because the internet is doing a great job of advertising it for them at the moment.
