The hunt is on for the next James Bond. Well, it has been for quite some time. 2021’s No Time To Die saw Daniel Craig’s tenure as the famous spy draw to a close. Let’s be honest, if you’re a prominent male actor, chances are your name has been thrown into the hat. Idris Elba, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Tom Hardy .. We’ve heard endless suggestions.
All we know is that the next Bond will carry on the tone established in Craig’s films and by that, we’re talking about Bond’s emotional sensitivity. That being said, franchise producers have also teased that the character will be reinvented, explaining that he isn’t “some kid out of high school.” Instead, Bond is a “veteran” so that will likely play into who is eventually cast. Despite being the frontrunner, Elba isn’t totally onboard with the idea. One former James Bond actor has a suggestion though.
Check out the trailer for the remastered GoldenEye 007 which is on its way to Xbox Game Pass.
Former Bond George Lazenby has revealed that he’d like to see Liam Hemsworth take on the role, which is a suggestion I wasn’t expecting I must admit. Lazenby told TMZ that Liam is a “good-looking Aussie dude” who is “crazy enough, arrogant enough, confident enough, [and] ambitious enough to take on the role.” It’s not the first time the actor has backed-up a fellow Aussie. He previously suggested that Margot Robbie could portray a female Bond.

Liam will soon be a busy guy. I’m sure you’re aware by now that Henry Cavill has exited Netflix’s The Witcher with the upcoming third season serving as his last. In season four, Liam Hemsworth will then take over playing Geralt of Rivea. Fans are pretty loyal to Cavill so it hasn’t been the warmest of welcomes for Hemsworth, but one fan-created mock-up of how he may look as Geralt is winning over some minds.
When it comes to Bond though, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was several years before we finally discovered who will be taking on the iconic role next.
