Elden Ring and The Witcher are two of the most impressive fantasy game IPs on the market right now, both of which have new games coming over the next couple of years.
While we’ll likely never see any collaborations between the two there are games out there that take inspiration from Elden Ring and The Witcher, sometimes combining elements from both series into something new.
Speaking of new, Elden Ring Nightreign is coming a lot sooner than you’d think, and it looks impressive so far
That’s not the game we’re talking about today though, that would be the Gothic Remake which is coming out sometime this year.

The game’s official description reads: “The Legend is Back - Return to the Valley of the Mines in this faithful remake of the genre-defining classic RPG. Explore a hand-crafted, organic open world that reacts dynamically to your actions in a gritty, unrestricted experience like no other.”
While it’s obviously its own game, comparisons have been drawn to Elden Ring, The Witcher, and other fantasy series, so this remake is a point of excitement amongst fans both new and old.
If you want to see the game in action there are YouTube videos out there of the game’s demo running at the best PC specs imaginable, which should give you a good idea of what the game is like.
Weirdly though there’s been a lot of criticism for the upcoming game, with many saying it’s not the Gothic they remembered and the remake has taken away some of the charm.

Alternatively there are others who say the remake presents it exactly how they pictured it in their head when the game first released in 2001, so to each their own.
It’s worth checking out though, and while there’s no word on when the remake is coming out it’ll launch sometime this year.
