Just when you think the hype surrounding Baldur’s Gate 3 has finally quietened down, a huge new expansion launches that sends fans into overdrive.
Baldur’s Gate 3, while still a popular game, has come to that point where it’s still an enjoyable experience but one that we know intimately.
That was until patch seven arrived.

Oh, how Baldur's Gate 3 has delivered a wealth of surprises!
This latest expansion is said to be one of the last for Larian Studios award-winning RPG, we’re sad to say.
However, while it’s a sign that new content is steadily winding down for BG3, that isn’t to say Larian shied away from giving fans one hell of an expansion.

As detailed by the developers, these are the main highlights of this “meaty buffet” of an update:
- New 'Evil Endings': Brand-new cinematic endings for your most villainous playthroughs, as well as unique endings if playing an Origin Character.
- Our Very Own Mod Manager: Browse, install, and use mods created by the community!
- Revamped Split-Screen Gameplay: Dynamic split-screen is now available for multiplayer! When playing split-screen, each side will merge when you are near each other and split back up as you head off on your own adventures.
It’s one of the new endings that has stirred up the fandom so much, causing everyone’s favourite fiery character to trend on Twitter.
Should you want to enter your next playthrough spoiler free, turn back now because we’re inevitably going to ruin something for you if you don’t.
“Karlach's evil ending in patch seven is absolutely metal. She goes absolutely insane! Holy sh*t, what a delivery!!” posted @gali_le0.

To ensure no one doubts just how wild the new ending is, the same user included a clip of the “metal” finale.
We’re used to seeing Karlach behave like this loveable golden retriever type character, but in this scene we see her take on a much darker role.
Got to admit, it’s pretty damn cool.
“HOLY SH*T this is utterly insane??? Woah, my heart aches for the path that would lead to this but DAMN THAT WAS AMAZING!?!?!” commented @MellonWellon.

The BG3 fandom already loved Samantha Béart’s portrayal, yet this evil ending has elevated her as a beloved character even further.
Patch seven is completely free to download, and is available for those who want to travel off the beaten path to become a deadly force to be reckoned with.
