Avengers: Doomsday is in production right now but fans are concerned with how Doctor Doom is being handled/portrayed.
Now to be fair it’s only natural, as Doom is a very popular Marvel villain so it’s not a surprise that fans want to see him get the adaptation he deserves, especially when previous ones were a little lacklustre.
It’s believed our first glimpse at the next major MCU villain will come with Fantastic Four: First Steps, possibly through a post-credit scene
Director of Fantastic Four: First Steps Matt Shakman says no though, and that part of the charm of the next Fantastic Four film is it’s lack of origin for Marvel’s first family and Doom as a villain. He said: “We're doing neither, and that allows us to look at them from a fresh perspective"

Many fans weren’t happy about this, with one saying they “can’t wait for them to f*** up Doom for the third time” due to his lack of screen time before the next Avengers film.
“Still think they should've committed to Kang as the big bad and saved Doom for the next saga” read another comment, “they could've started his story with a Disney+ show exploring his childhood in Latveria up until his transformation into Doom.”
Others speculated that this means the Doctor Doom we see in the next Avengers film won’t be from the Fantastic Four universe, but he’ll obviously know who they are.
“Other universe or not,” replied one user, “it’s a silly (and desperate) idea to have RDJ play the character in the first place. I just don’t trust Feige to come up with a good in-movie explanation to justify a nostalgia bait casting.”

With Avengers: Doomsday currently in production we’ll have to see if any behind-the-scenes shots of Doom surface, that’ll be our best look at the character before the official trailer.
