Baldur's Gate 3 massive free update available now

That is 17,0001 endings

It has officially been one year since Baldur’s Gate 3 landed and took the world by storm.

The RPG by Larian Studios is the third main instalment in the Baldur’s Gate series and uses turn-based combat to mimic Dungeons & Dragons.

Praised for its fun combat, multi-dimensional characters and epic worldbuilding, Baldur’s Gate 3 went on to win Game of the Year for 2023.

Now that it has officially been a year since Baldur’s Gate 3 was released, Larian Studios have taken to Twitter to share a massive free update for fans.

As with quite a few RPGs, BG3 can reward the player with multiple different endings based on their choices made throughout the game.

However, Larian Studios managed to take things to the next level after it was revealed that their newest title had over 17,000 unique endings.

Well now it is 17,001 as a recent Tweet by the developers shows another unique ending arriving with Patch 7.

“If you decided happily ever after wasn’t for you, there’s an assortment of evil ending cinematics new to Baldur’s Gate 3, arriving with Patch 7,” the post reads.

It was posted alongside a short clip of this new ending which shows the protagonist, known as Tav, innocently purchasing an apple at the market.

However, it may not be as innocent as it looks, especially with the Kill Bill-esque whistle as she walks away.

As expected, the title’s legion of fans were quick to share their excitement.

“The fact you guys are still updating this game is incredible and for free as well,” one reply read.

“Shows what a true game dev studio should aspire to be like.”

Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 7 is currently available in closed beta ahead of its official release.
