Assassin's Creed Shadows fans can rejoice, as the first major patch has been released, addressing many player complaints.
With Assassin's Creed Shadows being a couple of weeks old now, players have had plenty of time to sink their teeth into Ubisoft's rendition of Sengoku Japan.
In that time, certain bugs and design flaws have also become apparent, prompting Ubisoft to improve the game with further updates.

Assassin's Creed Shadows is one of the 2025's best games so far.
Title update 1.0.2 for Assassin's Creed Shadows addresses some of the player complaints made in the last few weeks since launch.
Most notably, the auto-follow roads feature returns from previous Assassin's Creed installments, which should help for long-distance journeys when you want to give your thumbs a break.

Horse speed in general has also increased slightly, so feel that extra horsepower and zoom around Yamashiro to your heart's content.
You can now also sell and dismantle multiple items at once when trading at merchants, which should save time for any hoarder players who have filled their pockets with all types of loot.
PS5 Pro users also get a few extra improvements too. Ubisoft has added PSSR support for upscaling, as well as Raytraced Specular for the Balanced graphics mode.
What this essentially means is that Balanced will now look closer to Quality mode than Performance mode. Make sure you go into video options to enable it.

Other improvements include a new uncapped framerate in the hideout, the option to reset Mastery Nodes, and plenty of smaller bug fixes and balance changes. Check out the full patch notes here if you want a look at the full list of changes.
