Some Assassin’s Creed Shadows players are upset with Ubisoft for giving away a free quest that gives you a dog, once again proving that gamers are completely impossible to please.
Thank you in advance to ComicBook’s Tyler Fischer for the original story!
If you preordered Assassin’s Creed Shadows, you would have been granted a free extra little quest for your troubles titled 'Thrown to the Dogs'.

The mission is pretty straightforward: you meet an injured dog named Tsuki-Maru guarding a chest, you follow him to find the key for it, and then afterwards you get to take the cute little fella back to your settlement.
Well, turns out that’s upset a lot of people based on the comments in a thread from Ubisoft’s official Twitter account promoting the quest.
“The quest is really pointless, the reward for the mission is a scarred dog,” commented user @soabz74.
“It's really pointless, I don't understand why it's so prominent for a quest.”

“Sorry but that quest was lame,” replied user @tankahma.
“You shouldn’t have promoted it as some bonus. It was clearly just cut from the base game to promote pre orders.”
You can take a look at the game in action below.
Firstly, how dare you? Did you not see how cute the dog is?

Secondly, I would understand people’s frustration at getting such a short quest as a reward for pre-ordering the game… if that was all you were actually getting.
If you pre-ordered Assassin’s Creed Shadows, you’re also getting the upcoming expansion Claws of Awaji for free too.
Ubisoft has stated that the free DLC will add “over 10 hours of additional content” and a brand new region to the game when it drops at some point this year. That’s really not a bad reward for pre-ordering the game.
Plus, in the meantime, you get a free dog! Will nothing satiate you monsters?
