Despite being something of an underrated entry in the much-loved Assassin’s Creed franchise, many players forget that Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag does indeed have a sequel and it’s not one to miss out on.
Released way back in 2013, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag has gone on to make a name for itself in the long-running Ubisoft franchise. As the sixth major instalment in the series, it has had quite the competition for top spot but despite it being 10 years on, many players still agree that it is one of the best.

With fans calling out for more, whether in the form of a remaster, remake or sequel for Black Flag, one Reddit user has taken the time to remind them that it does indeed have a sequel. Just not in the traditional sense.

“Assassin's Creed Rogue is still arguably one of the best Assassin's Creed games I have played,” wrote one user on r/assassinscreed. “Seriously, it uses the same game mechanics from Black Flag, but turns it into a story when you turn on the assassins instead of the Templars… The game is big but not too overwhelming at the same time. Lots of collectibles to get but still not an overly mass amount like the newer Assassin's Creed games”.
They are of course talking about 2014’s Assassin’s Creed Rogue which was the next release in the series after Black Flag. Despite not being a direct sequel, it still included some story elements following the events of Edward Kenway’s adventures and is recommended to those who have always yearned for a follow up.
“I feel like the peak of Assassin's Creed games was Black Flag and Rogue”, the post continues.
With Rogue being quite an overlooked entry in the franchise, many players agree that despite its controversial storyline, it is not one to miss.
