Even though there is a rumoured remake in the works there appears to be no sign that a direct sequel is coming. Well, at least in video game form.
There is an Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag sequel that exists and it’s a web comic series called Assassin’s Creed: Forgotten Temple.
“Edward Kenway returns to take the leap of faith in an all-new adventure,” reads its synopsis on webtoons.com. “The high-seas hunt is on for a long-lost treasure left by Those Who Came Before. But this time, The Templars aren’t the only ones after the prize. Join history’s most cunning pirate in an epic journey around the Chinese Sea.”
“What are your opinions of the Black Flag sequel, Assassin's Creed: The Forgotten Temple?” asked Redditor Remarkable-East5983.

“As someone who adores both Edward and Black Flag, I'm incredibly excited for this project,” they continued. “Seeing Edward doing missions for the brotherhood along with his investigations into the Pieces of Eden as mentioned in AC Syndicate is so cool.”

“I didn't even know this was a thing,” replied a Reddit user. “I feel most of the Assassins deserved the kind of long-form storytelling and character development that Ezio got. But I'd just rather Ubisoft produced Assassin’s Creed: Rogue-length side games.”
“I’m interested in seeing how they handle the situation with Edward’s descendant,” said n217062. “Depending on how they try to explain Noa’s lineage, it may or may not make sense relative to what’s already been established in the lore.”
“It’s the first time I’m reading about this,” a surprised Loquacious_Leo responded. “This is definitely something to check out since I did enjoy playing Black Flag.”
At the time of writing, there are 78 episodes of Assassin’s Creed: Forgotten Temple and all are available for free over at Webtoons.com.
