Twitch streamer xQc has given his verdict on Hogwarts Legacy, which he played from start to finish in a single 25-hour stream.
While many gamers have been calling for a boycott of Hogwarts Legacy due to its association with Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling (who has been criticised for making harmful comments about the transgender community), the Wizarding World RPG has managed to set a concurrent viewer record on Twitch. Over 1.3 million people logged in at the same time to watch their favourite streamers play the game, one of whom was xQc, who completed the whole thing in one sitting.

As Dot Esports reports, immediately upon reaching the credits (after 23 hours of playtime), the streamer was full of praise for the title: “Ok, short version. I think the game is really good, I rate it pretty high,” he said, noting how tough it was to settle on a score. “It’s really high, like uh, dude, like a 9.3. I think it’s definitely worth the buy, 100 percent. Money for value for sure.”
He then began to create a list of pros and cons for the title, in which he noted that the menu shortcuts could have been better, there’s “bad enemy variety”, and that the dialogue was also poor. Taking all this into consideration, he lowered his original score slightly to 9.2. That’s still very impressive.
Official review scores dropped earlier this week, and the majority of those were similarly positive - at the time of writing, the game has a critic score of 89 on Metacritic (on Xbox Series X specifically).

Since the game is still in early access, we’ll have to wait and see how the user score fares when it releases for the masses. For those on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, that’s in just two days’ time, on 10 February.
