There is no denying that Loki is one of the most iconic characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and now that it has been confirmed that he will return in Avengers: Doomsday, Marvel has released our first look at the God of Mischief.
It is hard to believe that Tom Hiddleston’s Loki was last seen in 2023’s Loki season two but after the events of the series, fans were eager to see what part the God of Mischief would play in the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Check out Loki season two in the official trailer below!
However, earlier this year saw Marvel Studios reveal that Hiddleston would be returning as Loki in 2026’s Avengers: Doomsday and ahead of that, we have received our first official look at the horned God.

This comes courtesy of a brand-new artbook which celebrates all things Loki season two.
Titled Marvel Studios' Loki Season 2 - The Art of the Series, it is set to be released on 29 July, 2025 and gives us a new-and-improved look at Hiddleston’s Loki or more specifically, the God of Stories version of the character which we met in the second season.
We can see him in his iconic green cape and horned helmet and now that we know that Loki will have a prominent role in the next Avengers movie, it is exciting to see him ahead of its full release.
It is believed that Loki and Thor will finally be reunited during the events of Avengers: Doomsday but other than that, we don’t yet know what else the God of Stories will get up to.

However, as he is so intrinsically linked to the Multiverse and Doomsday explores that concept, we can expect him to play a very important role.
So much so that industry insider Alex Perez described Loki as a “McGuffin character” in the movie with his role being necessary to drive the plot forward.
"He’ll be our McGuffin. The race against Doomsday will be a race to see who gets to Loki first."
Marvel Studios' Loki Season 2 - The Art of the Series will probably be the only time we see an updated Loki ahead of official trailers for Avengers: Doomsday and you can just so happen to learn more about Loki season two in the process.
