Assassin’s Creed is back again, in the year of our lord, 2025. After the staggering success of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Ubisoft has partnered with Mantic Games to bring fans a new adventure.
However, this new adventure isn’t going to take place on our screens, but instead, on our dining room tables, as it will be a board game, pulling in inspiration from across the Assassin’s Creed universe.
Fan-favourite Ezio is back in this Assassin's Creed board game
Assassin’s Creed Animus has launched over on Kickstarter, with Mantic Games overseeing production of the premium board game.

The new game is pitched as a “thrilling and competitive board game, spanning multiple historical eras from fan-favourite games.”
Mantic Games founder and CEO Ronnie Renton said in a press release, “We’re thrilled to be partnering with Ubisoft to create the Assassin’s Creed board game.”
Speaking on what to expect from the game, he continued, “Fans can expect a deep respect for the franchise’s lore and history, exciting asymmetric characters, and tough gameplay choices between pursuing your own objectives while needing to maintain their edge over other players.”
Details are thin on the ground, right now, and the Kickstarter page will be updated over the coming months, however some key art lets us into which characters will be making an appearance.

Leading the charge is the fan-favourite of Ezio, who many consider the best protagonist from the franchise.
Connor, from the original trilogy, is also shown, along with Eivor, of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla fame.
These kinds of board games are often supported with expansions, so it’s highly likely we’ll get assassins from games like Black Flag, and the latest, Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
Fans on Reddit consider themselves interested, with one saying, “I'm intrigued.”
